Helen Gray

MSc sMCSP

Apprentice Physiotherapist

Bio

Helen graduated from Leeds Beckett University with an MSc in Sport and Exercise Medicine. She is now working towards a career in physiotherapy, working in an apprenticeship role at Nicole Lavin Neurorehab whilst studying for her qualification at The University of Huddersfield.

Helen has developed extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, combining hands-on therapy with exercise-based rehabilitation to help individuals recover from injury, reduce pain and improve function. She is qualified in sports massage therapy and has a strong interest in movement, exercise prescription and promoting long-term health through physical activity. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Helen designed and delivered online exercise classes, helping people remain active, motivated and connected during a challenging time.

Within her role at Nicole Lavin Neurorehab Ltd, Helen works closely alongside the specialist physiotherapy and occupational therapy team to support people with a wide range of neurological conditions. She assists with assessment and rehabilitation programmes, helping individuals develop strength, balance, mobility and confidence as they work towards their personal goals. Under the guidance of the multidisciplinary team, Helen also independently delivers individualised rehabilitation programmes, ensuring each person receives high-quality, person-centred care tailored to their needs.

Alongside her neurological rehabilitation role, Helen has continued to pursue her passion for sport and performance. She works as a Sports Therapist for the Leeds Rhinos Scholarship programme, supporting the development of young elite athletes, and also provides pitch-side and rehabilitation support for Stanningley Rugby League Club. Her experience has further expanded through her work with the England Lions Under-17s, giving her valuable insight into high-performance sport, injury management and return-to-play rehabilitation.

Helen enjoys combining her experience in sport, exercise therapy and neurological rehabilitation to help individuals of all ages and abilities achieve their goals. Whether supporting someone returning to everyday activities after neurological illness or helping an athlete recover from injury, she believes that rehabilitation should be motivating, progressive and centred around what is most important to the individual.

Helen is a member of the Society of Sports Therapists (SST) and an Assistant Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). She is committed to ongoing professional development and enjoys continually expanding her knowledge and skills to provide the best possible support for the people she works with.

Known for her friendly, approachable nature and positive attitude, Helen is passionate about encouraging people to build confidence in their movement and celebrate every achievement throughout their rehabilitation journey. She takes pride in creating a supportive environment where individuals feel motivated, empowered and encouraged to reach their full potential.
