Bio

Arzu began her physiotherapy career in Türkiye in 1998 before relocating to Leeds in 2004, where she has continued to build a rewarding career supporting people with complex neurological conditions. With over 25 years of clinical experience, she is passionate about helping individuals maximise their independence, regain confidence and achieve meaningful improvements in their everyday lives.

Throughout her career, Arzu has developed extensive expertise in neurological rehabilitation, working with people living with a wide range of long-term and acquired neurological conditions. She has a particular interest in supporting individuals with spinal cord injuries, stroke, Parkinson’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis, helping them improve mobility, function and quality of life through evidence-based, person-centred rehabilitation.

Arzu is committed to lifelong learning and continually develops her clinical skills to ensure she delivers the highest standard of care. She has completed specialist postgraduate training in the Bobath Concept, Upper Limb Rehabilitation and Aquatic Physiotherapy, enabling her to provide tailored rehabilitation programmes that address each person’s individual goals and potential. In 2021, she further expanded her expertise by completing a Level 4 Diploma in Strength and Conditioning, strengthening her knowledge of functional movement, exercise prescription and long-term physical conditioning to support recovery and promote lifelong health.

Most recently, in October 2025, Arzu completed both Part A and Part B of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) through the McKenzie Institute International. This additional qualification enables her to assess and treat people experiencing low back and neck pain using internationally recognised, evidence-based assessment and treatment principles. By combining her neurological expertise with musculoskeletal assessment skills, Arzu is able to offer a holistic approach to rehabilitation, supporting individuals with a broad range of movement and pain-related conditions.

Arzu believes that successful rehabilitation is built on strong therapeutic relationships and collaborative goal setting. She takes time to understand what is important to each individual, creating personalised treatment programmes that empower people to take an active role in their recovery. Her warm, encouraging nature, combined with her clinical knowledge and practical approach, helps people feel motivated and supported throughout their rehabilitation journey.

Outside of work, Arzu is a proud mum of two and enjoys leading an active lifestyle. She is a keen salsa dancer and believes movement should be enjoyable as well as therapeutic. Her enthusiasm, warmth and positive outlook are reflected in both her professional practice and everyday life, inspiring those she works with to build confidence, stay active and achieve their personal goals.
