Video classes

Supportive exercise classes designed to build strength, mobility and confidence.

Regular exercise can play an important role in maintaining physical function, supporting wellbeing, and promoting independence.

Our classes are led by experienced therapists and are carefully structured to ensure exercises are safe, effective, and appropriate for the group. Sessions focus on functional movement and evidence-based exercise approaches used in neurological rehabilitation.

Many people find that exercising alongside others with similar experiences can help build motivation, confidence, and a sense of community.

Our exercise classes can also complement other services offered at the clinic, such as neurological physiotherapy, hand and arm rehabilitation, and hydrotherapy, helping individuals maintain progress and continue working towards their personal goals.

To make sure the class is safe and suitable, we require participants to undergo an initial assessment with the therapists.

Our Exercise Classes

We offer a variety of specialised, clinician-led classes tailored to different mobility levels and neurological conditions.

Use the quick links below to jump directly to the details of each class:

Face to face and zoom Parkinson’s classes

Both our face-to-face and live online classes are designed as higher-level, progressive sessions suitable for individuals who are independently mobile and medically stable.

Classes are structured to incorporate:

  •  Dynamic, multi-directional movement .
  • Cardiovascular conditioning.
  • Balance and reactive stability work .
  • Large-amplitude (“big”) movement training .
  • Strength and resistance exercises .
  • Coordination drills .
  • Dual task training (motor + cognitive challenge).

Sessions are deliberately energetic and progressive, reflecting evidence supporting higher-intensity, task-specific exercise in Parkinson’s management.

Boxing

Structured, high-intensity functional training incorporating:

  • Agility and rapid directional changes.
  • Reaction time and cue-based movement .
  • Dual task training.
  • Cardiovascular conditioning.
  • Large-amplitude upper limb movements.

Boxing-style drills have demonstrated benefits in promoting speed of movement, coordination and physical conditioning. Sessions are non-contact and supervised by clinicians experienced in neurological rehabilitation.

Adapted Climbing for Parkinson’s

Supervised, task-specific climbing sessions designed to challenge:

  • Bilateral coordination.
  • Weight shifting and dynamic balance.
  • Grip strength and upper limb activation.
  • Motor planning and problem-solving.
  • Confidence with graded exposure to movement challenges.

Climbing provides an engaging functional environment for strength development and neurocognitive stimulation, with activities adapted to individual ability and safety requirements.

Neuro Pilates

Pilates is a low-impact exercise that focuses on strengthening the core by combining controlled movements of the arms and legs, sometimes using small equipment like balls and resistance bands.

It helps improve:

  • Posture.
  • Strength.
  • Stability.
  • Flexibility.
  • Balance.
  • Coordination.
  • Reduce stress.

Neuro Pilates adapts traditional Pilates exercises for people with neurological conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis. Classes are led by a specialist neurophysiotherapist trained in clinical Pilates, with small groups of up to six participants. Exercises can be done standing, sitting, or on a mat and are tailored to each person’s abilities.
