Gemma is an advanced rehabilitation assistant with over 13 years’ experience spanning the NHS and private practice.

Gemma started her Career at Leeds Teaching Hospitals where she worked in adult and paediatric MSK and Neuro teams. She worked in an advanced position in paediatrics in Leeds and Airedale in acute and community settings.

Gemma has experience supporting physiotherapy assessments in schools and in specialised clinics such as SDR. She has a Sport Development with Physical Development degree and in 2010 won the prestigious Advancing Healthcare Award for a project she championed helping children with their wheelchair skills become more independent. This work was published in a healthcare journal.

Gemma is an active member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and is part of the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Network. She is a champion for the support workforce across the country both in NHS and Private Practice.

Outside of work, Gemma is an outdoor enthusiast, and her weekends are spent in the camper van or caravan with her husband and springer spaniel, Willow.
