Bio
Sarah is passionate about listening to children, young people and families to understand what matters most to them, working in partnership to help them achieve meaningful goals.
With over 30 years’ experience across a range of NHS settings, Sarah provides high-quality occupational therapy for children and young people of all ages. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy and an MSc in Professional Health Studies. Alongside her clinical work, Sarah is currently a Clinical Lead within the NHS, where she is actively involved in research, service development and teaching. She is a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists and works in consultation with the College to support the development of best practice guidance.
Sarah combines a collaborative coaching approach with hands-on assessment and intervention, empowering children and young people to participate more fully in everyday life at home, school and in the community. She takes a strengths-based approach, recognising each individual’s unique abilities while understanding the barriers that may affect participation. By adapting environments and tasks, she helps children develop the confidence and skills to succeed.
She has extensive expertise in developmental disabilities and neurodiversity, including developmental coordination disorder (DCD), sensory processing differences and a wide range of developmental presentations. Sarah is highly regarded within education services and recently led a project focused on embedding occupational therapy more effectively within school settings, strengthening collaboration between health and education professionals.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time outdoors and is a keen runner and mountain biker. She also manages and coaches a football team and has extensive coaching experience within disability sport, reflecting her passion for helping children and young people thrive both on and off the field.
