Bio

Sikander is an experienced physiotherapist with a broad clinical background spanning neurological rehabilitation, musculoskeletal physiotherapy and sports rehabilitation. He has worked across acute and hyperacute NHS services, independent healthcare and semi-professional sport, giving him a diverse range of skills and experience in supporting people through every stage of recovery. His varied clinical background allows him to confidently manage complex presentations while delivering personalised rehabilitation programmes that focus on helping individuals regain independence, improve function and return to the activities that matter most to them.

Alongside his work in neurological rehabilitation, Sikander spent three years working within semi-professional sport, where he developed extensive experience in injury prevention, rehabilitation and return-to-performance programmes. This combination of neurological, musculoskeletal and sports experience enables him to take a holistic approach to rehabilitation, blending evidence-based physiotherapy with strength and conditioning principles to help individuals rebuild confidence, resilience and physical capacity following injury or illness.

Sikander has a particular interest in neurological rehabilitation and has worked with people living with a wide range of neurological conditions, including stroke, spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s disease and dementia. He understands that every neurological condition presents differently and believes rehabilitation should always be tailored to the individual’s goals, abilities and lifestyle. He enjoys working collaboratively with patients and their families to develop meaningful rehabilitation plans that promote independence and maximise quality of life.

His musculoskeletal expertise includes the rehabilitation of post-operative orthopaedic patients, shoulder conditions, spinal disorders and cardiorespiratory rehabilitation. Whether supporting someone following surgery, recovering from injury or managing a long-term condition, Sikander focuses on restoring movement, improving strength and helping people return to everyday activities, work, sport and recreation with confidence.

A particular passion of Sikander’s is helping people rebuild their fitness after injury or neurological illness. He believes that rehabilitation should not stop once basic mobility has been achieved but should continue to challenge and progress individuals towards their full physical potential. His exercise-based approach encourages patients to develop confidence in their movement, improve their physical conditioning and achieve lasting improvements in health and wellbeing.

Committed to delivering evidence-based practice, Sikander has completed a range of specialist postgraduate training to further develop his clinical expertise. He has undertaken advanced training in neurological hydrotherapy, using the unique properties of water to support movement, balance, strength and confidence for people with neurological conditions. He has also completed specialist training in the assessment and treatment of Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), vestibular rehabilitation and pain management, enabling him to provide comprehensive care for individuals experiencing dizziness, balance disorders and persistent pain.

Sikander is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and is committed to continually developing his clinical knowledge to ensure his patients receive the highest standard of care. He is known for his approachable manner, positive attitude and commitment to empowering people throughout their rehabilitation journey. By combining expert clinical knowledge with personalised exercise and rehabilitation programmes, Sikander helps individuals build confidence, restore function and return to living active, fulfilling lives.
